The 2nd Jagiellonian Interdisciplinary Security Conference

The National Security Department of the Jagiellonian University held on 17-19 September 2018 an international scientific conference: The 2nd Jagiellonian Interdisciplinary Security Conference "Friends, Foes and Familiar Strangers: Reassessing Actorness in the Times of the Global (Dis) Order".

The conference was attended by several dozen scholars representing research centres and universities in Poland, Germany, Italy, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, the United States, Canada, Cyprus and India. During 10 panel sessions, the participants presented the results of research devoted to the issues of international security, with particular attention given to the changing geopolitical conditions, technological development and new types of risks and threats in contemporary world.

The keynote lecture, which inaugurated the conference,  was delivered by prof. Christopher Coker from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
