The study outlines possibilities of the use of drones by operational sub-units and the territorial defence sub-units in the present battlefield. It embraces several recommendations concerning the organization and equipment of specialised drone sub-units and the procedures of the preparation of soldiers/operators. Taking into account differences in the essence of activities of operational forces and the territorial defence forces enabled an identification of possibilities and limitations of the use of drones in combat activities on the level of sub-units.
