The construction of an artificial canal, which is to become a main sea route connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara and replacing the Bosphorus in this respect, was inaugurated in Istanbul at the end of June 2021. During the ceremony organized on the occasion of the commencement of the investment, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented the Istanbul Canal (tur. Kanal İstanbul) as a fundamental project for the future of Turkey.

Since 2011, the main area of EGNOS application has been air transport, although much wider economic and social opportunities are being promoted. At the same time, it should be noted that the project is a political initiative and constitutes a high-quality export product. Given the above, the analysis provides basic information on the current functionality and outlines the political dimension of the development and dissemination of this EU flagship project.

Traditionally, the identity of a "warrior" constituted the dominant pattern determining the behaviour and attitudes of soldiers. It is based on a specific ethos and centred around fighting the enemy. The resulting attitudes, behaviours, norms, and values revolve around elements such as courage and bravery, camaraderie and self-sacrifice, as well as discipline and obedience. From this perspective, the Australian Defence Force is an interesting case, as its identity comprises many elements typical of the traditional identity of a "warrior". At the same time, in several key aspects, the identity of Australian soldiers is clearly diverging from it. The purpose of this analysis is therefore to identify the elements of the Australian Army's military identity and relate them to that of the "warrior".
