Department of National Security, International Relations and Area Studies (IRAS) and International and Security Studies (ISAD) have the honor to host Dr Paul Timmers from the University of Oxford.

The lecture Contemporary and Future Cybersecurity Challenges for the European Union Members will take place on October 28, 2019 (Monday) at 15.30 in Exhibition Hall B Auditorium Maximum.

The lecture will be delivered in English, admission is free.

Dr Paul Timmers is an internationally recognized expert in cybersecurity. He is a visiting fellow at the University of Oxford and at Rijeka University. He is a Senior Advisor to the European Policy Center, Chief Adviser to the European Institute of Technology/Health, and  member of  Supervisory Board of the eGovernance Academy in Estonia.

He is a former Director at the European Commission for Digital Society, Trust & Cybersecurity, responsible for policy, legislation and innovation in cybersecurity, digital privacy, digital health and ageing, e-government, and smart cities/mobility/energy. He was member of the Cabinet of Enterprise and Information Society Commissioner Erkki Liikanen.
