M. Kania - The relationship between the European Union and Africa: Challenges for the new European Commission

On the 7th of December, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen visited Addis Abeba, the capital of Ethiopia. It has been the first official visit outside Europe since von der Leyen took office earlier in December. The choice of Addis Ababa, a headquarter of the African Union, remains politically symbolic in light of the ongoing negotiation with the ACP group on post-2020 regional relations.
