In Poland, sociological, anthropological and psychological perspectives in intelligence studies still have received little attention. Wrocław IPN's publication on the security apparatus of the communist Poland from the perspective of anthropology of organization and anthropology of power has opened a new chapter in the research under discussion. However, it refers to the functioning of Polish institutions in historical terms. The author of this analysis aims to transfer such method of studying the intelligence services to their current activities, by presenting their organizational culture. The analysis therefore answers two questions. Firstly, Can we speak about the existence of an organizational culture of the special services in Poland? Secondly, if so, What created and shaped it? Due to complexity of the phenomenon under study, the author will focus on the environment of the intelligence services as the first element shaping their organizational culture.
