The decarbonization of the energy sector according to the Polish Energy Policy until 2040 will be implemented on the basis of several pillars. Renewable energy sources are of key importance, but also fossil fuels i.e., natural gas in the medium term. Moreover, the coal phase-out will be stabilized by nuclear energy. For this reason, there are a number of doubts as to the need to launch the hitherto nonexistent energy sector. It should be noted that although Poland has experience in this context, none of the projects have been implemented so far. The war in Ukraine and the need for energy transformation have spurred the activities of the Polish authorities in the field of energy. What is the current situation regarding the development of nuclear energy in Poland compared to neighboring countries? Will the new beginning for this sector be effective?
